We don't want to be falsche freunden.

Dear german friends of ours, 

We need your help. We want to become closer friends, but sadly we cannot promise we won’t use falsche freunden in our e-mail communication.

Therefor, we want your opinion:

As of now, we are trying really hard to translate our newsletter to German, however, as with any language, you cannot directly translate a sentiment, a feeling, an emotion.

We felt like we were telling you a different story, even though we were using the exact same words. This is simply because a language is more than just words. It’s how you use them. How you structure your sentence. The feeling you give your readers. And we are not sure we can tell the same story in German as we can in English. 

So to make sure we tell you the tales of Staats, with the same message as we do in English, we want to ask you if you are okay with us sending you English Newsletters from now on. Please vote in the newsletter you received today. We cannot wait to hear from you, and tell you more about the Staats Community you are a valued member of. 

Let’s become real friends, and not let the falsche freunde get in our way.
